Process

For this project, I had to tap into my inner kid, designing the illustration was the easy part. The difficult part was to catch that essence of a child’s drawing, which cannot necessarily look professional. What I did was make a brush in Photoshop that resembles a crayon, because that is most likely to be a kid’s first choice of expression. To replicate the style, I used my left hand to draw so it could look bumpy and rigid; I also made it look smudged to capture the messiness of it.
